Azimut Fly 62: Revolutionising the flybridge experience

Preview

Azimut’s Flybridge Series, long celebrated for its innovative approach, reached new heights with introducing the Fly 62. Launched on July 29th at the Avigliana production facility, this yacht brought the revolutionary Beach Cockpit to the forefront, setting a new benchmark in flybridge design and functionality.

Innovative design for closer connections

The Fly 62 redefined the relationship between yacht and sea. Its standout feature, the Beach Cockpit, transformed the transom into a seamless extension of the water. With a synchronised movement, the sofa lowered alongside the transom, creating a spacious sunbathing area that dissolved traditional barriers between the yacht and the ocean. This radical yet elegant feature offered unparalleled access to the water, a first for flybridge yachts traditionally designed with more separation from the sea.

The Beach Cockpit was more than just a design element—it reimagined how guests could interact with their environment. Owners and visitors could enjoy various activities simultaneously, whether relaxing in the shade, swimming, enjoying aperitifs on deck, or simply soaking up the sun. This innovative space balances individuality and togetherness, providing a new level of versatility and enjoyment.

Striking exterior by Alberto Mancini

The Fly 62’s exterior, crafted by renowned designer Alberto Mancini, was inspired by the latest trends in automotive design, particularly the bold aesthetics of SUVs. Mancini redefined the Flybridge Series’ sporty DNA, introducing clean lines, smooth surfaces, and a modern, dynamic silhouette.

The yacht’s hardtop featured hyper-modern lines that married perfectly with the linearity of its horizontal hull windows, creating a sleek and cohesive aesthetic. Mancini’s vision was not just about style; it also maximised functionality. The volumes of the superstructure extended forward, enabling the spacious cockpit while preserving the sporty and elegant profile for which Azimut yachts are known.

Sophisticated interiors by Fabio Fantolino

Inside, Azimut renewed its collaboration with architect Fabio Fantolino to create interiors that blended style with functionality. Fantolino focused on openness, crafting spaces free of visual barriers to enhance the connection with the sea. The design emphasised simplicity, using clean lines and a minimalistic aesthetic that exuded modern elegance.

The layout was designed for comfort and versatility, offering a luxurious yet welcoming environment. Whether hosting guests or enjoying a quiet moment at sea, the Fly 62’s interiors provided the perfect balance of sophistication and practicality.

A highlight at the Cannes Yachting Festival

The Fly 62 made its global debut at the Cannes Yachting Festival 2024, held from September 10th to 15th, where it captivated enthusiasts worldwide. It showcased Azimut’s commitment to pushing boundaries and redefining luxury in the maritime industry. The yacht’s combination of groundbreaking features, bold design, and refined interiors made it a standout at the event, reaffirming Azimut’s position as a leader in innovation.

The Azimut Fly 62 wasn’t just another addition to the Flybridge Series—a revolution. Its groundbreaking Beach Cockpit, sleek exterior, and luxurious interiors set a new standard for what a flybridge yacht could be. Whether for day trips or extended stays, the Fly 62 offered an unmatched experience, seamlessly blending innovation, comfort, and the beauty of the sea.
